Introduction

We did our Orientation last Sunday. It begun by explanation of the school. Adjan New (Adjan means Teacher or Lecturer) explained about Demonstration School. I will do Observation, Assist Teaching, and Teaching there so I listened to it carefully. Then we watched Udon Thani and UDRU video profile. The video mentioned all places that I want to visit. Everyone in Thai has nickname because it’s really difficult to remember their names. I met Adjan Meow for the first time. She is very humble and heartwarming so I feel completely happy beside her. Then she let me borrowed her Umbrella. I forgot to bring my own Umbrella in Orientation Day so I will return Adjan Meow’s Umbrella next time. We met Acting President of UDRU and he welcomed us warmly.

(They have a lot of Classes: Nursery, Kindergarten 1, Kindergarten 2, Kindergarten 3)

Adjan Meow and Adjan New brought me and Ita to Demonstration School which is only 300 meters from Building 12 (Faculty of Education). I walked there 10 minutes from my Dorm. They showed classes, playground, parking area, and so on. This School has a lot of things that Kid likes. I could see Thailand’s flag in the school. Adjan Meow told me about her experiences in Bali while we were walking back to Building 12. I had lunch together with all participants of SEA-Teacher and Buddies. I warned myself not too much eating so I will not gain weight. There was an interesting menu: Thai Capcay with medium cooked Shrimp, Thai Salad, and Fried Fish with sour and sweet sauce. After lunch, we went back to our Dorm and took rest until 15.30 PM. Then we were playing Game to guess our Buddy. I got clues but it was difficult to find her. And Finally, I realized that View (her nickname) is my Buddy yeay!!!.

We watched Udon Thani traditional dance. Their customs were so colourful and the music sounded really nice. Dinner time started earlier and there were a lot of foods then before. I really enjoyed my Dinner. After that, we did our first ever Thai Language class. I learned Thai by Flashcards too but it’s still difficult hahaha. One word, different tones and meaning. Adjan Koningka taught me very well. She said “don’t worry, don’t worry…”.

I went to Demonstration School at 07.15 AM. Campus was not crowded in the morning. Finally I could meet my Advisor in School. Her nickname is Noina. She explained all rooms in the School, even Teachers. Adjan New said that I should do introduction in front of all Primary Students and Pre-School students. I was crying when Students sing National Anthem of Thai. Suddenly, I felt homesick and proud of myself at the same time. Adjan New said, “Oh It’s okay, don’t cry”. After that, I did introduction in front of Student (Primary and Pre-School).

I started Observation in Nursery class. It has more than twenty students around 2-3 years old. Aww, they were so cute. Some of them tried to talk to me but I couldn’t understand what the say. The most action that I did is High-Five code. And I amazed with Class Decoration because everything was colourful. They have sleeping time but in Indonesia it was called Day Care. Kids in this Class still tried to do anything by themselves. They took their shoes alone, brought their Bag even it was really heavy for them. I took a lot of Pictures yesterday. I was focusing in their activities. They gave me food for lunch and snacks too. 

My Buddy took me to the Central Plaza. View told me that I have two Buddies, her nickname is Noon but she couldn’t welcome me on Sunday because she did research (wow!). She felt sorry so he called me to go out. View did not join us because 7^th August was her Birthday so she has Dinner with her Mother. We went to Central Plaza by Motorcycle and I was so happy. I could see the other side of the Town.  In Central Plaza, I bought KFC’s ice cream. Then we were going to Central Point that located near Central Plaza. It has a lot of Food seller and I could see Tourists there. I bought Sweeper, Bucket and foot carpet. It costed lower than Supermarket. There were many Thai’s food but I couldn’t find Halal menu. I invited Noon to my Dorm and Tak (Dea’s Buddy) to my Dorm. We taught our Languages. Noon and Tak tried to speak Bahasa Indonesia.

Observation Day : 2

In this second day of Observation, I decided to wear another Shoes but my feets got hurt a lot. Kindergarten 1 was my Object. Ms Khu Pong and Ms. Puk are the Teacher. This class has different habits than Nursery Class. Kids could do all good habits by themselves. Teacher prefer Mother’s Day so the topic was all about Mother and Kids. At 14.30 AM, I met Adjan Kim and Adjan Meow. They explained to me about my Homework. I did insiative action to check Data that Ms. New sent to me via email. Udon Thani felt so hot this afternoon but rain was really heavy in the evening.

I had a plan to buy some water with Noon but canceled it for a while because of the rain. We had chance to go out at 19.00 PM. Noon was picking me up by her Motorcycle. We went to TOP Supermarket that is located near UDRU. I bought water and bread for my Breakfasts. Then we were searching for Halal Restaurant but it was already closed (-.-“). I wanted to see Duck Baloon completely so we were going to Pajark Park and yeay I saw all of them!. Butter Toast with whipped cream and Caramel, Cappucino, and Milk Honey were our Menus for last night. The Toast tasted good and finally I got chance to drink Coffee. Before come back to Dorm, I took pictures with Noon. Once again, View couldn’t join us because she had Claas in evening.
